A week exploring Bali with some of our closest friends…what could be better?

The first half of the week was spent in Ubud, a small artsy town north of Denpasar. As the presumed arts and yoga capital of Bali, it attracts a huge number of tourists and expats, with a serious bent towards hipster sensibilities. We spent some time exploring the market-lined streets, had the opportunity to see some of Elora’s bamboo houses, and even chartered a private boat to go snorkeling for a day. We had some amazing meals, including phenomenal smoked duck at Elora’s godfather’s restaurant and a few nice meals at Bambu Indah. Another highlight was our spa day at Cantika Zest Spa.

We ventured to Seminyak for the second half of the week, enjoying some much-needed relaxation in the sunshine. We visited a couple of pool clubs, where you get to lounge and drink by the pool, take walks on the beach, and enjoy some people watching.

It’s safe to say, Vacation #1 = success!
